Editorial Policy
This page explains how we create and maintain the recipes and guides on County Carb.
Original recipes
The County Carb Kitchen Team writes every recipe on this site. We build each one from the ground up: ingredient list, quantities, method, timing and serving size. We do not copy recipes from other websites or books. When a recipe follows a well-known classic, such as deviled eggs or a Cobb salad, we say so and write our own version.
What every recipe includes
- Prep time, cook time, total time and servings.
- An ingredient list with US measurements.
- Numbered steps with heat levels, times and doneness cues.
- Substitutions, with a note when a swap changes the estimate.
- Fridge, freezer and reheating guidance.
- Estimated nutrition per serving.
How we estimate nutrition
We never type nutrition numbers by hand. Each ingredient line has a gram weight. A script multiplies that weight by the matching USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy) values and divides the total by the number of servings. Net carbs are total carbs minus fiber. The results are estimates. They vary with brands, sizes, how you measure and any swaps you make. The full method is in How We Estimate Carbs and Nutrition.
No health claims
County Carb is about cooking. We do not promise weight loss, and we do not say that any recipe treats, prevents or improves a health condition. Labels such as "vegetarian", "dairy-free" or "gluten-free ingredients" describe the ingredients in a recipe. They are not medical advice. Always check product labels if you cook for allergies.
Photos
Recipe photos come from Wikimedia Commons under licenses that allow reuse, such as Creative Commons Attribution, Attribution-ShareAlike, CC0 or public domain. Each photo shows the author's name and the license under the image. A photo shows the dish or a close version of it; your result may look a little different.
Corrections and updates
If we find an error, or a reader reports one, we fix it and recalculate the nutrition when ingredients change. To report a problem, email [email protected].

County Carb may show advertising in the future. Ads will be clearly separated from recipes and will not change what we write or which ingredients we use.
